Description
We are a secondhand bookshop selling a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books. We are a family business and have been trading for some years. There are around 40-50,000 books in our shop, yes we may look small from the front but we go back a long way! We have a particularly large fiction and children's section. In addition we also stock old maps, videos, dvds, cds and vinyl. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to help you find what you are looking for or will perform a free book search to find that elusive title! We buy books irrespective of age provided that they are in good condition. A postal order service is available for telephone/email customers. Dogs are welcome.
We are located centrally on the High Street in the delightful town of Much Wenlock, famous as the birthplace of William Penny Brookes who led the way to the re-birth of the Olympic Games, and to this day, the annual Olympic Games are held in the town. Much Wenlock is also a popular place for tourists to visit the ancient Priory which though in ruins still stands proudly in its grounds.
We are pleased to be a part of the community which has managed over the years to preserve its mix of small shops in idyllic surroundings. Much Wenlock caters for all tastes from shop browsing to walkers and lovers of the countryside, the inspiration for A.E. Housman's poetry and Mary Webb's famous novels.
