Francis Moore 1657 - 1715
Francis Moore was born on 29th Januray 1657. He was a British physician and astrologer who wrote and published Old Moores Almanack.
Moore came from a poor family in the town of Bridgnorth, Shropshire. He was self-educated and learned to read by himself. He also served at the court of Charles II of England.
The almanac that bears his name was first published in 1699. It originally gave weather and astrological predications and is still published annually.
