Food Hall of The Year finalists announced
Farm Shop & Deli Awards shortlist includes Ludlow Food Centre again!
Ludlow Food Centre has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Food Hall of the Year at the Farm Shop & Deli Awards, 2016.
Now in its third year, the awards recognise the best in class in the specialist independent retail market, celebrating the very highest standards, levels of service, product innovation and community involvement in the sector. Category awards are up for grabs across 12 different specialisms including Food Hall of the Year.
Commenting on the announcement,
Jon Edwards, Managing Director at Ludlow Food Centre, said: "It's always fantastic to receive recognition for doing what you love. It’s a well-deserved pat on the back for all our hard-working and dedicated staff, who make this place such a success.
"We have a proven track record of success at the Farm Shop & Deli Awards having previously won the Butcher of the Year in 2015 and the inaugural Food Hall of the Year award in 2014. These Awards are special because they’re also voted for by the public – so to be recognised yet again is very exciting.”
Ludlow Food Centre, based in Bromfield, south Shropshire, is one of three finalists in the running. It consists of a 4000 square-foot food hall surrounded by eight production units responsible for creating 50 per cent of all the food sold on site. With more than 350 entries nationwide, Ludlow Food Centre has already overcome stiff competition to make it into the final for this coveted accolade.
The team of judges, including experts from across the world of speciality retail, fine food and food media, has whittled down the entries by carrying out a series of 'secret' visits to see the retailers in action. Scores will be counted and judged alongside the online votes from consumers ahead of the winners being announced at The Farm Shop & Deli Show at the Birmingham NEC on Monday 18 April.
