Ludlow and District Riding for the Disabled Association are proud to present Cosford Military Wives Choir

Ludlow and District Riding for the Disabled Association are proud to announce that the famous Cosford Military Wives Choir will be singing in Ludlow Methodist Church, Broad St, Ludlow, SY8 1NH on Friday 24th March 2017 at 7.30pm (doors open from 6.45pm).

Cosford Military Wives Choir has been based at RAF Cosford for 4 years and in those years has gone from strength to strength under the musical direction of the highly experienced Gill Hawkes. The Choir have featured on Heart Radio and for Remembrance Day Services at RAF Cosford and for BBC Radio Shropshire. In 2015 they had the great opportunity to represent the Military Wives Choir Foundation singing backing vocals on a song for Lulu and last year 12 ladies from Cosford MWC were part of the choir singing backing vocals on stage with her across the country, including Shrewsbury. The Choir also featured on The Military Wives Choir Christmas Album December 2016, which reached number 2 in the classical album chart.

The Choir will sing a selection of their signature pieces and songs from that tour, ranging from pop songs to Latin hymns and the well-known favourite Amazing Grace. Something for everyone!!

The Choir perform and support many great charities, raising awareness and much needed funds and we are honoured that they have agreed to support Ludlow & District RDA this spring. Thanks go to Janet Williams, one of Ludlow & District RDA’s fantastic team of volunteers, who has organised the event.

Ludlow & District RDA provides riding and carriage driving activities to children and adults from Ludlow, and the surrounding areas, who meet the requirements for RDA support and who can benefit in some way, however small, from participation in these activities.  We use this disability and equestrianism sport to combine education, therapy and fun to improve the lives of our riders and carriage drivers. At the moment we have around 70 people who ride or drive with us on a regular basis. Their disabilities are wide-ranging, from social and behavioral problems to severe mental and physical impairment.

Tickets (including tea/coffee) – Adults: £12, Under 16s: £6 – are available from: Wesley’s Café in the Church (10am -2.00pm), Myriad Organics, Corve Street, Ludlow and Janet: tel. 01584 875220
