Telford Town Park, The Mere and Severn Valley Country Park wave their ‘Green Flags’

For the second time running Telford Town Park has been appointed a Green Flag Award, along with The Mere at Ellesmere and Severn Valley Country Park in Bridgnorth.

The three tourist attractions are amongst the 1,686 parks in Country that have been recognised and rewarded for their managed green spaces this year. This tremendous accolade follows on from Telford Town Park’s award for the best park in the UK last year.

The park is renowned for having one of the best playgrounds in the County with facilities to accommodate children and adults. With high ropes, Water Park and crazy golf course; the 450 acres of green space is situated outside the Telford shopping centre and Southwater, making the park an ideal destination for a family day out.

In the last 5 years a lot of money and time has been invested in developing Telford Town Park and this hard work is now being rewarded with this honour yet again. The Mere in Ellesmere was first awarded a Green Flag back in 2014 whereas Severn Valley Country Park has continued to exceed the benchmark standards for the last 12 years. Could it be that Telford’s Park has got a taste for success, which it hopes to maintain for many more years like fellow Bridgnorth Park?

As a result of the new and improved Telford Visitor Information Centre, the park has seen a significant increase of visitors from all over the country. This along with the cleanliness, tidiness and range of play equipment; is why it have been awarded the Green Flag.
