The British Ironwork Centre joins the world’s biggest coffee morning for Macmillan
This September the British Ironwork Centre took part in the world’s biggest coffee morning to show our support for Macmillan Cancer charity.
The Forge Café and BIC staff baked up an array of sweet treats in order to raise funds for the wonderful charity, the delicious cakes were displayed in the showroom on September 30th throughout the morning to tempt visitors and raised an amazing £200!
All funds raised will be donated to Macmillan to assist the continuation of the amazing work they do and the unfailing support they offer to so many. Visitors also had the opportunity to leave a message for a loved one at the tree of wishes; staff were so humbled to read some of the messages of love and courage.
The decadent offerings were judged by Councillor Vince Hunt in classical bake off style, checking each offering to ensure there were no soggy bottoms or under baked centres! All involved were hoping to raise more money this year than ever before as the cause has become even closer to all their hearts of late. The team also want to thank everyone who brought a slice or coffee while visiting and in doing so helped to smash the original target.
