Tiny Tots Trail of Treats set to enchant little ones at Blists Hill Victorian Town in December
Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge, is putting some magic into Christmas especially for their youngest visitors with an enchanting festive trail for under fives. Available on selected days leading up to Christmas, the fun, new Tiny Tots Trail of Treats will delight children and their grown-ups as they follow clues to find treats around the Town on 6-7, 13-14 and 20-21 December.
Start the trail with a visit to see the jolly Mrs Claus in her beautifully decorated parlour. Here she will start the special day with a Christmas story at the fireside and a glass of milk and cookies for children and a hot drink for adults. Every child will also receive a gift stocking and chocolate coins.
Second stop of the day is to fill the stocking with traditional stocking fillers. Next up is a fun toy making workshop where the ‘little elves’, wearing special elves hats, can make a traditional Victorian toy. The trail then moves on to one of the cosy cottages where you can help stir the Christmas pudding and decorate the wonderful Christmas tree with dried fruit, decoupage baubles and cinnamon sticks. The highlight of the trail is a visit to see Father Christmas in his grotto, where all tots will receive a special gift for their stocking to take home.
There will be eight sessions each day starting at half-hour intervals between 10.30am and 2pm with space for up to eight people on each; all children must be accompanied by an adult. Families are most welcome to extend their visit and explore Blists Hill’s streets, cottages, shops and places of work after they finish the trail.
Prices including the trail and admission into Blists Hill are £15 for both adults and children and £13.50 for Annual Passport holders, with a maximum of three children to each adult. Places must be pre-booked online and make sure you arrive at least 30 minutes before your trail start time.
One of the ten Ironbridge Gorge Museums, Blists Hill will be open from 10am to 4pm. For further information, call the Ironbridge Tourist Information Centre on 01952 433 424 or visit www.ironbridge.org.uk.
