Making holidays accessible. The Wharf Cottage dates back to the 19th century and two separate chalets being added later. A total of 8 people can be accommodated, with beds for 10, the chalets having bathrooms suitable for people with disabilities. The wharf sits in its own spacious grounds with private car park.
The Wharf cottage is a converted canal side house retaining much of its original structure including exposed beams and open fire place. Positioned next to the Llangollen Canal where the Trust moors their six and eight berth holiday boats together with its specially designed Day Boat, Shropshire Lady, which can be hired in conjunction with the cottages.
The two adjoining chalets are adapted with wet rooms suitable for people with disabilities with plenty of room for wheelchair access. The Wharf cottage has a fully equipped double oven, microwave, washing machine and dryer, deepfreeze and a conservatory able to seat eight people in comfort around its table. The lounge area has soft furnishing and open fire, full central heating and outside the attractive gardens have extensive lawns with BBQ. All the accommodation is on ground floor level, internet, TV and Wi Fi is provided.
The Wharf has extensive, well maintained gardens, private car parking and is a perfect base to explore Shropshire’s own ‘lake district’ with the market town of Ellesmere just 3 miles away. The historic towns of Shrewsbury – 16 miles, Chester – 29 miles and the mid and north Wales mountains and coast within easy travelling time. The cottage and chalets can be hired for a minimum of two nights.
Please note the cottage and chalets are to be hired together at a cost of £300 - £500 per week.
