Donnington
Donnington is a suburb of the Telford and Wrekin area of Shropshire. Historically Donnington was a mining village under the care of the 'Duke of Sutherland Estate'. It was a significant industrial area where the 'C&W Walker Ltd' company manufactured components for ships engines.
MOD Donnington is a British Army military base, although not large in size it was formally a supply depot that was one of the largest military stores in Europe. At one time the camp was rail linked to the nearby town of Wellington. Before Dr Beeching, the town itself had a railway station that connected Stafford and Shrewsbury.
