Edgmond

Edgmond is a small village lying one mile north-west of the Shropshire townof Newport.

The lowest ever temperature recorded on 10th January 1982 in England was recorded in the village, -26.1°C.

Local people can often be found on the local playing fields undertaking Sunday games of Cricket and pub football matches, there is even a playground to keep children amused. The village has many areas suitable for walking and cycling. One such area called 'The Rock Hole' is extremely popular for young mountain bikers and the canal walk, which leads down to the local town of Newport is used for fishing competitions.

There is a small church dedicated to St. Peter within the village which falls under the Lichfield diocese.
