Munslow

Munslow is a small village 8 miles south-east of the Shropshire town, Church Stretton. The village can be found on the 'S' bend in a road running below the magnificent Wenlock Edge.

There is a church dedicated to St Michael. It sits in a small wooded hollow and is surrounded on all sides by immaculate houses and barns that have been built with locally mined Wenlock limestone.

The elegant Georgian rectory is a fine private house that has a fine front porch supported by two pairs of columns.

The church itself has a fine Norman tower which is topped with an 18th century parapet. There is also a 14th century wooden porch and stained glass windows that are at least 500 years old.

The nearby, but slightly smaller village of Aston Munslow lies just a mile to the south-west. It is fortunate to be graced with several black and white buildings.
