Oakengates

Oakengates is a small town that forms part of the Telford and Wrekin part of Shropshire.

The town has a railway stop on the Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton line. The Ketley canal which was constructed in the 18th century to carry coal and ironstone from Oakengates to the Ketley ironworks, has fallen into disrepair and today there is little sign that it ever existed.

The main theatre for the borough of Telford is located within Oakengates.
