Events in Shropshire: see what’s on during your Shropshire stay

Here is your Shropshire events page – your guide to what’s on in Shropshire. All year round our Shropshire calendar is filled with festivals, fairs, shows, exhibitions and special days out. Some events are annual Shropshire traditions; others are one-off occasions you won’t want to miss. Shropshire’s most famous recurring events include Shrewsbury Flower Show in August and Ludlow Food Festival in September – the country’s first food festival. Several events are unique to Shropshire’s rich history. Oswestry Show in August is a one day farming extravaganza and many of Shropshire’s lovely towns host their own unique events through the year. If you’re a Shropshire events organiser who would like to share details of an event through our Visit Shropshire page, this is how you do it!

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
