A warm welcome awaits you at Lane Farm, a traditional 400-acre organic family working beef and sheep farm, nestling beneath the tranquil Breidden Hills, where wild life abounds in the picturesque Severn Valley

Approximately 12 miles from Shrewsbury, 9 miles from Oswestry and Welshpool. Lane Farm is a perfect base to explore the Shropshire Hills, Shrewsbury, Chester, Oswestry, Ellesmere, Welshpool, The Marches and Mid-Wales borders. We are within easy reach of mountains, lakes, castles, stately homes, beautiful gardens, museums and the coast. With wonderful peaceful roads, wild open spaces and spectacular scenery, driving to any of the attractions is almost as nice as arriving.

The purpose extension to the farmhouse was completed in June 2000 and comprises of four en-suite spacious modern rooms. All rooms have central heating and have been furnished with pine furniture, TVs, beverage trays, radio alarm clocks and comfortable chairs. Some rooms have the advantage of being able to add an extra single bed and all have space for a travel cot.

Two of the bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, one having been designed with the less agile visitor in mind, offering extra wide doorways, drive in shower (no shower tray), slightly lower toilet with grab rails to the side and a lower wash basin with lever tap. A full access statement is available upon request and for added safety the whole property has a fire certificate. The beamed dining room with its large communal table is in the original farmhouse. A substantial farmhouse breakfast is assured using local produce when possible. A good selection of local pubs offering evening meals are just a short walk or drive away. We have ample safe parking for cars, bikes and trailers.

We are open all year with the exception of 23rd - 27th December.

Our visitors are welcome to return at any time from their exploring to relax and enjoy the farm and their accommodation. Whilst you are welcome to walk around our 400 acres, please remember this is a working farm with animals and moving machinery, children must therefore always be supervised.

Private free fishing for one rod is available on the River Severn; you will however need to bring your own rods and the appropriate licence. A wide selection of golf clubs is to be found within a 20 minute drive. Paintballing, quad biking, laser clays, pony trekking and mountain biking all are available locally. Families can find fun filled days at numerous venues including Park Hall, Acton Scott Working Farm and Shropshire's Secret Hills Discovery Centre.

The local area offers some wonderful trips, Shrewsbury being a medieval town with castle, gardens, excellent shopping and river walks. Ironbridge, the home of the Industrial revolution. Railway enthusiasts are well catered for at Bala, Welshpool, Llanfair, Llangollen and perhaps the more well known Severn Valley Railway. The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford is also within easy reach. Just over the border into Wales visit Pistyll Rhaedar situated in the Berwyn Mountains which boasts a stupendous waterfall, higher than Niagara, or visit Llangollen a historic town, with its famous canal and aqueduct. For nature lovers a visit to The Long Mynd and The Stiperstones Nature Reserve are truly breathtaking. For those feeling energetic a walk to the top of The Breiddens to Rodney's Pillar will afford spectacular views of the Severn Valley (on a clear day!) We are within easy reach of The Severn Way and Offa's dyke.

Local attractions include the monthly Hill Climb at Loton Park, the famous Shrewsbury Flower Show in August, The West Mid Agricultural Show in June and Salop Steam Rally at the end of August.
