Telford Hotel & Golf Resort
Hotel in Telford, Shropshire
The Telford Hotel & Golf Resort boasts an enviable position with what might be the best views in the county. Situated in a UNESCO World heritage Site, set in 170 acres of attractive grounds, perched atop the Ironbridge Gorge, the hotel is an ideal location for exploring what Shropshire has to offer.
For a start, there are the ten museums at Blists Hill and Coalbrookdale showcasing the birth of the Industrial Revolution around the Iron Bridge, the first Iron bridge in the World. Weston Park, West Midlands Safari Park, Cosford Air Museum and the Severn Valley Railway at Bridgnorth are all just a short drive away along with our impressive Medieval country town of Shrewsbury.
Situated less than five minutes drive from the M54 motorway, the resort is one of the most stylish and luxourious that the region has to offer. Accommodation is in one of 114 super stylish and spacious bedrooms with flat screen TVs, tea and coffee making facilities and powerful showers. Most bedrooms have such amazing views of the Gorge and Golf course, you will struggle to tear yourselves away
For an ultimate treat, there are nine deluxe bedrooms which are situated in Darby House, the 17th century former home of Abraham Darby III which now forms part of the hotel. These bedrooms boast the original sash windows and stained oak beams, which blend beautifully with the luxurious fabrics and hi-tech in room facilities.
Elsewhere in the resort, guests can enjoy great British cooking in our 1779 restaurant or more simple lounge food served in our Gorge Bar and terrace. Room service is available around the clock.
Designed by renowned architects, John Harris and Brian Griffiths, the Par 72, 18 hole championship golf course challenges you to raise your game, dares you to be more audacious and positively charms the plus-fours off you, whatever your handicap.
The course is set within the Shropshire parkland overlooking the Severn Valley and Ironbridge Gorge with tree-lined fairways, strategically placed water hazards and undulating greens laid on a suspended water table system, as at Augusta, home of the US Masters. The setting for Ian Woosnam’s first Pro Tournament win.
The course also provides a chipping area, locker rooms, driving range, two putting greens, practice bunker and a Golf shop. Our Club Bar is ideally located close to the 18th green. Providing terraced seating for those warmer days, the bar offers light meals and a selection of hot and cold beverages.
And once you have finished negotiating your way around all 18 remarkable holes, why not head to our Spa for a spot of ‘me’ time.
We think you’ll find its quiet room, rock sauna, aroma steam room, ice fountain, experience shower, heated loungers, heated indoor swimming pool, state of the art gym and a dance studio offer the most relaxing atmosphere to be found outside of a Tibetan temple.
