‘Furnaceman’s Dream’ A Play inspired by Shakespeare and Ironbridge Heritage

A local drama group is staging an unusual play which combines Shakespeare with musical theatre and takes its inspiration from the Ironbridge Gorge’s industrial heritage. Furnaceman’s Dream is being presented by the Telford and District Light Operatic Players (Tadlop) in the Engine Shop at Enginuity, Coalbrookdale on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th November, near the site of the Old Furnace used by Abraham Darby.

Museum commemorates Battle of Britain with family weekend

The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford will be commemorating the Battle of Britain, considered the most important event in Royal Air Force history, with a family weekend of events and activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a flypast on Saturday from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire (weather permitting).

Thrill-seekers in Shropshire can have their fill this weekend when the regional heat of a Go-Kart Rally tournament comes to Telford.Competitors will battle it out at the heat on Sunday 28 August at The Edge Adventure Activities in Much Wenlock as part of Go Kart Rally, in association with Screwfix, Peugeot and power tool brand Evolution, and people in Shropshire are invited to come on down and experience the race day which begins at 10.30.

Museum hosts exclusive Gala Ball

An exclusive charity Gala Ball will be held at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford on Saturday 8th October 2011. Organised in partnership by the RAF Benevolent Fund and the RAF Museum with support from RAF Cosford, the evening will start with a champagne reception under the wings of the mighty Vulcan and other aircraft within the National Cold War Exhibition.

Severn Valley Railway brings the seaside to the West Midlands!
