Tennis is Art Lecture at Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron

As part of the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust’s Science Sport Life Programme, the Museum is hosting a fascinating lecture on Tennis in Art, presented by Professor Ann Sumner, Director of the Barber Institute of Fine Art, on Wednesday 14th September 2011 at 7.30pm in the Boardroom at Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron.

Celebrating a Decade at The Crown Country Inn.

Last week saw Richard and Jane Arnold of the Crown Country Inn, Munslow celebrate their 10th Anniversary of owning the 17th Century Country Inn and Restaurant. Since opening in August of 2001 Richard a Masterchef of Great Britain has received numerous awards for the quality of his food, most recently being included, yet again, in the Good Food Guide and retaining its 2 AA Rosettes.

Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site Celebrates 25th Anniversary World Heritage Festival 24th September

This year is very special for the Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire’s stunning Severn Valley as it marks the 25th anniversary since it was designated as one of the UK’s first World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in November 1986, alongside such sites as Stonehenge and the Giant’s Causeway. A series of exciting events, festivals and activities is planned to celebrate this significant milestone, which look back over its history and forward to the next 25 years.

Ironbridge Gorge Museum’s Charity Golf Day

Golfers are invited to take part in a charity golf day which will raise vital funds for the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. The annual event takes place at Worfield Golf Club on Wednesday, 12 October. The competition welcomes teams of four players and is open to everyone. Individuals are also very welcome to take part.

Author re-tells 500 year old story
