‘Shop of the Year’ invests in the future with New Apprenticeship Scheme
2015’s Great Taste ‘Shop of The Year, based in Ludlow, is looking to recruit the future generation of artisan creatives and first class hospitality staff.
With lots of recent changes for the Ludlow Food Centre, including the recent recruitment of an apprentice butcher and commis chef, while its partner hotel, The Clive, has taken on a commis chef in its kitchen.
The Food Centre’s dairy and bakery departments are in search of keen applicants to join their teams, while The Clive has two front of house placements available.
Edward Berry, Managing Director at Ludlow Food Centre, said: “This is not just about getting people in the workplace. This is about ensuring that the expertise and quality we put in to everything we do is seen for years to come.
“Ludlow Food Centre and The Clive are offering fantastic hands-on opportunities to ensure that the future of the food, drink and hospitality industries is in safe hands. Sadly, in an age where supermarkets are prevalent and cost and convenience comes before quality, artisan production could easily become a thing of the past in a generation’s time.
“In a town where real career opportunities are few and far between, this is a great chance to gain some valuable and life-changing experience in award-winning businesses.
“Each of our departments has won awards time and time again and there is no doubt that anybody undertaking an apprenticeship with us will be getting first-class tutoring from some of the finest in the industry. We hope that those training with us will be the next generation of award winners for both Ludlow Food Centre and The Clive.”
Previous apprentices at the Ludlow Food Centre have completed their work in conjunction with County Training who have gone on to win coveted industry awards including Britain’s Best Young Butcher.
