Watch a Victorian Wedding at Blists Hill Victorian Town: Saturday 16th June
Join the residents of Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge as they enjoy a traditional church wedding re-enactment and open-air reception of a local school teacher and his bride on Saturday, 16th June.
The ‘marriage service’ will begin at 2pm in St Chads Mission Church at Blists Hill; this unusual building is made from tin and is located in the woods. There are a small number of spare places inside the church to join the couple’s relatives and friends, sing-a-long with the traditional hymns and listen to the readings.
Afterwards the bride and groom will make their way by horse and carriage to the town’s Pleasure Gardens for an outdoor blessing and reception. Here they will mingle with their wedding guests and enjoy an open air Wedding Breakfast. Listen to the speeches and watch the proceedings until the happy couple depart for their honeymoon.
