FREE Admission. The award winning Royal Air Force Museum Cosford houses one of the largest aviation collections in the United Kingdom. 70 historic aircraft are displayed in three wartime hangars and within the National Cold War Exhibition.
This landmark building contains 18 aircraft, military transport, missiles, memorabilia, interactive kiosks and hotspots of information. The exhibition reflects the social, cultural and political history of the Cold War era circa 1947 – 1989, in an innovative way. Highlights include the only place in the UK where you can see Britain’s V Bombers: the Vulcan, Victor and Valiant. A Number of aircraft are suspended in flying attitudes including a Dakota, Canberra, Meteor, Lightning and Javelin. Visitors are able to look at them from an elevated viewing gallery.
RAF Museum Cosford is one day that everyone from small children upwards will enjoy whatever the weather. Children and adults alike will be fascinated by fun ‘n’ flight. Packed with hands on excitement, it’s the easy way to answer all those questions about how aircraft stay up in the air. The advanced flight simulator is also a great way to get an instant flying experience at just 2.75 per person. (See website for T & C’s) The 4D Experience offers visitors 3D animated visuals with an added dimension of dynamic seat movements, water spray, leg ticklers and smoke effects in a purpose built theatre. A single ticket costs £4.00 and a 4D Saver is £12.00 for up to 4 people.
The Visitor Centre is home to the Refuel Restaurant serving hot and cold meals and snacks. The Checkpoint Charlie Café serving light snacks and drinks and the well stocked Museum Shop are both located within The National Cold War Exhibition.
Access around the Museum is easy with wide aisles for pushchairs and wheelchairs. A limited number of wheelchairs and electronic scooters are available for loan free on arrival at the admissions desk, on a first come first served basis.
Open daily 10am – 6pm (last admission 5pm) including Bank Holidays. Admission is FREE of charge.
Please note that the Museum will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and 1st January.
Our car parking charges have recently changed and it is now £2.50 for up to 3 hours and £3.50 for up to 8 hours

On the A41, 1 mile from junction 3 on the M54.
From the south, leave M6 at junction 10a
From the north, leave M6 at junction 12 and follow A5 west.
Cosford Train Station is located on the Birmingham to Shrewsbury line (via Wolverhampton) then ½ mile walk. Please check timetable before visiting.
The 892 bus service from Wolverhampton to wellington runs along the A41. The nearest bust stop is the Cosford Garage, approximately a 1 mile walk to the museum gates.
The museum is conveniently located along National Cycle Route 81 which runs from Wellington to Albrighton. Cycle racks are situated next to the Visitor Centre.
Visitors can fly into the Cosford airfield by prior arrangement with Air Traffic Control. Please call us first for details.

Just one mile from junction 3 of the M54 motorway take the A41 south towards Wolverhampton. Follow brown signs to Royal Air Force Museum.
