The Accommodation
Tourist board inspected annually 3 stars.

The cottages are fully equipped for two people. These are single storey units converted by us to a high standard from a barn. The properties are well insulated having double glazing throughout. The stone walls keep in the warmth on chilly days and keep you cool and out of the heat on scorching hot days. Heating is by efficient night storage heaters. All accommodation is on the ground floor, it is ideal for anyone who can walk but can't cope with stairs.

The bedroom
Has a comfortable double bed that is made up with quilt cover, a sheet and four pillows. Blankets can be provided if required. There is plenty of drawer and hanging space. Good above bed lighting for reading. View the countryside from the comfort of your bed.

Kitchen/living area
Well-equipped kitchen with tiled work surface. Microwave, fridge, electric cooker, kettle, toaster. Plenty of cupboard space and tiled floor area. The dining /living area is carpeted and just made for two. There are comfortable good height armchairs, dining table and chairs, a television and books to read together with plenty of maps and interesting leaflets.

The bathroom
The room has a good down flow heater for warmth, a very efficient shower, set in a corner unit with sliding doors, toilet, wash hand basin in a vanity unit and a shaver point (there is no bath). White towels are provided.

Front and rear tiled porches
The front enclosed porch with double glass doors faces south and opens onto a paved area with seating ideal for catching the morning sun and watching the wonderful sunrises. A place to sit enjoy breakfast or read and relax. At night sit and look at the clear, unpolluted night sky and study the stars. Maybe see a badger shuffling along on a nightly foray.

There is good, sound off road parking outside the cottage.

In a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. At the foot of the Longmynd Hills between the villages of Picklescott and Pulverbatch.

Because we can provide you with a warm friendly welcome. You will stay in comfortable, clean and cosy accommodation that I personally maintain to a high standard. We are on site with help and advice should you need it.

We must be doing something right
Every year visitors return and still have plenty of places to go and sights to see. Visitors are invited to enjoy our large, well-stocked gardens and walk down through the woodland to a tranquil pond set among the trees. Stand on the back forty (Our lawn) and enjoy magnificent views out across the Shropshire plain. Sit in a quiet corner of the garden, paint, read or just relax and listen to the birds. In the evening walk down the woodland path, you may catch a glimpse of the badgers as they leave their sett.

What do you want to do?

We are close to the Shropshire Way. See the leaflet in the cottage. Plenty of gentle strolls along the lanes look out over hedges to see the farmland and animals, enjoy the abundance of wild flowers along the roadside. Marvel at the views that make this part of Shropshire so special. Go up onto the Longmynd and do more challenging walks.

Take the Shuttle bus that tours over the hills and down into the valleys each weekend and on Bank holidays. Get on and off wherever it takes your fancy. Plan this for your first day here. Take your own car and perhaps a picnic and follow the drives that I have set out for you to familiarise yourself with the area. Call at one of the local country pubs and enjoy something to eat and a drink.

Visit Towns and Shops
Wow! Plenty of shops in all the nearby towns, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth, Telford, Ellesmere, Oswestry, Bishops Castle and Clun. Some have street markets as well as designer shops, quaint alleys and shuts, amazing black and white properties, wonderful architecture, parks and gardens and riverside walks.

Eat out
Plenty of good pubs and eating-places featured in the good pub guide. Ludlow has some very fine restaurants. Visit specialist tea-rooms, such as the Bird on the Rock in Clungunford and DeGreys in Ludlow.

Castles, Stately homes and Gardens
Shropshire is unique in having more than its fair share of castles, stately homes with magnificent gardens along its once troubled borderland. The Welsh border is only a short journey away and Powis Castle is a must for history and garden lovers alike. Blists Hill and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums are world famous. Attingham Park, Benthall Hall, Dudmaston.

Steam trains
Then Bridgnorth is a must do place with The Severn Valley Railway or go to Welshpool and visit the narrow gauge railway.
