This delightful, well appointed cosy cottage on the borders of Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire, standing in the grounds of the owner’s house, is a hidden treasure. Ideal for a relaxing break yet within easy distance of the historic towns of Shrewsbury, Chester and Nantwich, the cottage is an ideal base to explore the many gardens, castles and National Trust properties, local canals and nature reserves to be found in the surrounding area.
Locally there is a fishing lake with café serving delicious meals from where you can book a flight in a hot air balloon or book a Segway ride. There are several golf courses and a parachute centre. Attingham Park, Hawkstone Follies, The Bickerton Hills, Beeston and Cholmondeley Castles, Erddig and Chirk Castle are packed with interest and, at nearby Ellesmere, there are nine glacial meres where herons can be seen nesting during March - May. With walks and woodland to discover, it is a nature lover’s paradise.
Surrounding the cottage are woods and fields with visiting wildlife. Rabbits and pheasants will be much in evidence, and if you’re lucky a partridge, along with many varieties of birds such as woodpeckers, nuthatches, tree creepers and, on a walk at dusk, the occasional owl.
Whether you are looking for a short break, a holiday, an idyllic honeymoon retreat or planning your wedding at nearby Iscoyd Park or Dearnford and need guest accommodation, School Bank Cottage is ideal. There is great attention to detail, with comfortable beds, large fluffy towels and toiletries in each bathroom, a sunny oak framed garden room which has windows to two aspects with ample seating ,overlooking stunning views across open countryside. There is a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer and outside there is a pretty garden with chairs and a table where you can sit, relax and unwind.
A welcome tray is provided on arrival, and for guests staying for just the weekend, there is a hamper to include continental breakfast with cereal, fruit and croissants.

Ratings and Awards
Take the A525 to Wrexham. After about 1 mile take the first turning to the right signed Iscoyd Park and Higher Wych and then the second turn left into Broomers Lane. The driveway is immediately on the left up through trees. On reaching the top of the drive bear right and the cottage is in front of you.
