This detached, sensitively converted Grade II listed Barn nestles in the beautiful Clun Valley in Shropshire, an area officially designated as one of “Outstanding Natural Beauty”.
On your doorstep is unspoilt countryside and historical towns such as Ludlow. Whether you are seeking good food, entertainment, walking, cycling or simply want to soak up the past in a peaceful setting without hassle, rush, crowds and traffic then Shropshire, especially the Clun Valley is THE ANSWER!
Situated in the Welsh Marches the area is steeped in history with many castles built to give protection from the marauding Welsh (now happily more interested in rugby conquests), lovely market towns and the stunning unspoilt countryside of Mid Wales and Shropshire.
This is a new barn conversion and whilst retaining many of the buildings original features has all the modern facilities needed for convenience and comfort.
Accommodation and amenities
The detached barn is in the hamlet of Whitcott Keysett just 2 miles from Clun one of the most attractive villages in Shropshire famous for its annual Green Man Festival the barn has a private patio garden from which you can admire the lovely views of the surrounding hills stretching into the distance towards Wales.
The barn is available for short breaks and holidays throughout the year. The owner’s property, Whitcott Hall, is adjacent to the barn.
The barn retains many original oak beams and glorious views. From the entrance hall you enter a fully fitted well equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, washer/tumble dryer, electric 4 ring cooker with fan oven and microwave; from the kitchen you enter the dining room/living room with CD/radio player, SKY TV, DVD and video player and internet access. The patio area with private seating is accessed via the French doors in the living room. Downstairs Cloakroom.
From the entrance hall stairs lead to the spacious bedroom which accommodates either twin beds or a double bed. Spacious en suite shower room, bidet and WC. A cot or small z bed for a child can comfortably be placed in the bedroom a small charge of £20 for part week or full week is charged.
Oil fired central heating, hot water, electricity, bed linen and towels are included in the price.
Strictly no smoking
Small well trained dogs are welcome, please advice on booking. (There is a small charge of £5 per night)
There is private parking at the front of the barn. A welcome pack is provided.
On reservation we require a deposit of 50% of the total cost. A receipt will be sent to you confirming your booking together with an information pack. The balance will be due 28 days prior to your arrival. Cancellation within 28 days or less of your booking will result in the loss of the deposit. Cancellation with more than 28 days notice will attract a charge of £50 per week or part week.
For bookings made with less than 28 days notice payment needs to be made in full together with the returnable £50 fee for damage and breakages. In the event of cancellation by you the deposit will only be refunded if we are able at short notice to re-let the accommodation for the full term.
Arrival after 2.00 p.m. Departure by 11.00 am. Changeover day Fridays, this can be adjusted by prior arrangement and subject to availability.

If approaching the village of Clun via the A488 from Craven Arms or Shrewsbury drive through the High Street and turn down to the river.
